About the event
As the Covid-19 lockdown persists, we will gather to share readings, practices and discussions about coping with uncertainty in the midst of crisis. Bring your favourite book, poem or article, or just turn up for an evening of reflection, connection and inspiration!
The Library of Change Exchange is a book club with a difference - instead of reading the same thing, we each bring a book, quote, poem or whatever text has moved you in recent times. We'll each share a snippet and the impact that its has had on us, to open a discussion about the evening's main theme.
We'd like to provide a space to share, process, and find courage for moving forward. We will explore ways to process the feelings that arise in relation to sthe challenges Covid-19 is posing - isolation, mental health, family dynamics, loss of work - and seek out resources for coping and thriving through this period.
It's an opportunity to meet like-minded people from different backgrounds, and find community. Don't feel pressured to prepare - even if you can't choose a book, come along and join in the conversation anyway.

Why are we doing this?
Everyone needs soul food - creative, social and environmental change work can be tough, busy and lonely, and the Library of Change is one response that we devised to meet a desire to connect with people outside our usual circles, share inspiration, and expose ourselves to new content and perspectives. We also never have enough time to read everything we'd like to, and these meet ups have left us feeling like we've read ten books in an evening, and re-fueled from deep, challenging and beautiful conversations!
We might record snippets of the conversation to share via our podcast, with your persmission on the night. If you'd rather not be recorded just let us know when you arrive.
